NATO won’t back Ukraine’s North Korea allegations

North Korean Soldiers Allegedly Fighting with Russian Forces in Ukraine: Fact or Fiction?

Recent claims by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky suggest that North Korea has been supplying both weapons and soldiers to aid Russia in the conflict in Ukraine. However, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has stated that he cannot confirm these reports. Despite this, he expressed concern over the deepening military cooperation between Russia and North Korea.

South Korea has also raised the issue of North Korean soldiers possibly participating in the conflict, with Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun stating that it is “highly likely” some have already been killed. However, the Kremlin has denied these allegations, calling them a hoax.

Russia and North Korea recently signed a Comprehensive Partnership Treaty, which includes a clause on mutual military assistance in case of an attack. Russian President Vladimir Putin has requested the ratification of this treaty by the State Duma.

As the situation continues to unfold, the international community remains on edge about the implications of North Korean involvement in the Ukraine conflict.
