NAF Partners with First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative to Provide Relief to Borno Flood Victims
On 16th October 2024, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) demonstrated its commitment to aiding civil authorities by completing an airlift mission to deliver essential relief supplies to flood victims in Borno State. This humanitarian effort, carried out in collaboration with the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative, involved transporting food, clothing, sanitary essentials, and toys for children from Abuja to Maiduguri onboard the NAF’s C-130 Hercules aircraft.
The NAF’s Director of Public Relations, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, highlighted the significance of this mission in providing much-needed assistance to communities impacted by the recent flood disaster. The relief materials were delivered to senior NAF officers, who then handed them over to the Borno State Government for distribution.
This joint initiative between the First Lady’s office and the NAF showcases the power of collective action in supporting those affected by natural disasters. In addition to airlift missions, the NAF has launched medical outreach programs and provided food assistance to over 2,000 Internally Displaced Persons, further demonstrating its commitment to humanitarian efforts.
This collaborative endeavor serves as a testament to the NAF’s dedication to providing timely support and relief to regions in need, reaffirming their role as a pillar of hope and assistance during times of crisis.
