Lebanon’s government response to war crisis – Ya Libnan.

Since October 8, 2023, over 1.2 million people in Lebanon have been displaced due to the escalating conflict between Hezbollah and Israel. The conflict, sparked by Hezbollah’s support for Hamas, has led to a massive humanitarian crisis in Lebanon. Around 160,000 displaced individuals have sought shelter in public schools across the country.

The ongoing hostilities coincide with Lebanon’s existing challenges, including a power vacuum and economic collapse. Israel’s attacks have further exacerbated the country’s crises, including economic, banking, and political instability.

As the conflict intensifies, displaced individuals are facing inadequate government support, with the caretaker government struggling to address the growing need for humanitarian aid. The situation remains dire in Lebanon as the conflict shows no signs of abating and the government grapples with the overwhelming humanitarian crisis.
