The Israel Defense Forces and the Israeli Security Agency are currently investigating whether one of the three militants killed in the Gaza Strip is Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. The militants’ identities have not been confirmed yet.
The IDF stated that there were no signs of hostages in the building where the militants were eliminated, and operations in the area are ongoing with caution. Sinwar, known for orchestrating the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, became Hamas’ political bureau chief after the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in August.
With tensions high in the region, the investigation into Sinwar’s possible death could have significant implications for the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
