Greece, Ukraine sign security deal in Brussels

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a bilateral security defense cooperation agreement in Brussels. This agreement allows Greece to actively participate in the reconstruction efforts of Ukraine, with a focus on Odessa, where Mitsotakis pledged support during his visit in March. The deal also presents opportunities for Greek businesses to collaborate with European and Ukrainian firms.

Zelenskyy stated, “Greece is ready to meet Ukraine’s defense needs and provide resources for F-16 training.” The agreement complements Ukraine’s defense efforts against Russia’s invasion and facilitates Greece’s involvement in Ukraine’s recovery.

The agreement covers collaboration in various sectors such as the economy, energy, civil protection, cultural cooperation, and green energy production. It also includes initiatives in maritime transport and logistics to strengthen ties between the two nations.

This collaboration signifies a strategic partnership between Greece and Ukraine for mutual benefit and regional stability.
