France tests new loitering munition to transfer it to Ukraine

France recently conducted testing on a new model of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that they plan to supply to Ukraine, according to French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu’s announcement on social media.

“Successful tests of the first French loitering munition, or kamikaze drone,” Lecornu wrote, posting a video from the test site.

The first batch of these new drones is set to be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine “in the coming weeks,” as promised by Lecornu. He also highlighted France’s achievement of technological sovereignty in producing their own UAVs.

In a previous report, it was revealed that France was developing a new kamikaze drone with plans to supply it to Ukraine.

“It is very likely that we will see great success,” Lecornu mentioned in an interview with the Journal du Dimanche.
