Former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras criticized his successor’s government for its soft stance towards Turkey, warning that accepting unfavorable situations could lead to severe consequences.

Samaras expressed concerns about potential controversial solutions being considered for the Cyprus issue, hinting at a disguised partition that could pave the way for Turkification. He emphasized the necessity of fair and sustainable resolutions to prevent further crises.

His remarks, delivered in Cyprus, highlighted growing disagreements within the ruling party over foreign policies, particularly concerning Turkey. Samaras stressed the importance of Turkey recognizing the Republic of Cyprus as a basis for any negotiations, cautioning against actions that could lead to the division of the Aegean and Greece’s diminishing presence.
