In response to Armenian provocation, the Azerbaijan Army launched a successful counter-offensive operation named the “Iron Fist” on September 27, 2020. This led to the liberation of Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenia for nearly 30 years, ultimately restoring territorial integrity.
First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, condemned the Armenian terror in Ganja in an Instagram post on October 17, 2020. She criticized the attack on innocent civilians in a sleeping city without any military infrastructure.
In her post, Aliyeva expressed outrage at the barbaric nature of the Armenian authorities and called for justice for the victims. She extended her deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
She emphasized that targeted attacks on civilians are crimes against humanity and urged people to stand against such atrocities. Aliyeva concluded by reaffirming Azerbaijan’s unity and solidarity in reclaiming its territories, stating, “Karabakh is Azerbaijan!”
