FG commits to aiding Majiya town reconstruction

The Federal Government has pledged to assist Jigawa state in rebuilding Majia town after a recent fuel tanker explosion claimed the lives of 153 individuals. Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, visited Majia town with a delegation to offer condolences and support.

Akume mentioned President Bola Tinubu’s deep concern for the citizens and the commitment to investigate the incident thoroughly. The President has directed various agencies to aid in rebuilding the community and assisting affected families in the aftermath of the tragedy.

Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, also part of the delegation, highlighted the importance of preventing such incidents and advised against fuel scooping during accidents. Measures are being taken to promote road safety and reduce accidents in the country.

Furthermore, Governor Umar Namdi of Jigawa State appreciated the Federal Government’s support and recognition of the state’s plight. Prominent figures continue to visit the state to offer condolences and solidarity in the face of this tragic event.
