The Freedom Front Plus in Tshwane is criticizing the appointment of EFF regional chairperson Obakeng Ramabodu as MMC for environment and agriculture management, calling it a “slap in the face for Afrikaners”. Former Tshwane community safety MMC Grandi Theunissen also voiced his disapproval of Ramabodu’s appointment in the new municipal mayoral committee led by mayor Nasiphi Moya.
In a recent council meeting, Ramabodu made controversial remarks about wanting Afrikaner blood, causing concern among critics. Although he has since apologized, Theunissen doubts whether he truly has the best interests of all Tshwane residents at heart.
Ramabodu, in a letter to the South African Human Rights Commission, expressed his remorse and commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive environment. Despite the apology, the controversy surrounding his appointment continues to stir debate within the community.
