Job vacancies in Greece saw a significant increase in the second quarter of 2024, totaling 53,814, a 54.4% rise from the same period in 2023, as per Eurostat. The labor market continues to show positive growth, leading to a surge in unfilled positions due to skill shortages.

Key sectors with the highest job vacancies include tourism (16.4%), public administration (14.6%), and support activities (13.7%). A recent report highlights the growing gap between required and available skills in the Greek job market, with a focus on regular staff needs for business growth.

Employers are eager to hire young professionals with up to five years of experience, offering salaries up to 1,500 euros. The demand is spread across different skill levels, with highly skilled professionals (43.4%) and unskilled workers (26.6%) in demand.

Top 10 vacancies in high demand include supervisors, technicians, managers, doctors, software designers, financial managers, and paramedics. Businesses are actively seeking to fill these positions to meet growing industry demands.
