16 killed in Israeli attack on Nabatieh municipality in South Lebanon, update – Ya Libnan

Israeli Airstrike Kills Mayor and Dozens in Lebanon

Amid ongoing tensions in the region, an Israeli strike targeted the Nabatieh municipal building in south Lebanon, resulting in the death of the city’s mayor and 11 others. The incident, denounced by Lebanese officials, marked a shift in Israel’s focus from Hezbollah to the Lebanese state.

Israeli Defence Minister, Yoav Gallant, reiterated Israel’s commitment to continuing their assault on Hezbollah, despite international concerns. This comes as Israel launched a campaign to dismantle Hezbollah after the group supported Palestinian militants in Gaza.

As the conflict escalates, Israeli airstrikes have caused devastation in Nabatieh, leading to civilian casualties and displacement. Additionally, UNIFIL has reported Israeli attacks on peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon, raising concerns for safety.

The toll of the conflict continues to rise, with thousands of lives lost and millions displaced. While Israel maintains its stance, international efforts are underway to ensure the safety of civilians and peacekeepers in the region.
