In a recent appearance on an SBS political show, lawmaker Jung Dong-young raised concerns that if President Yoon Suk-yeol’s approval rating falls below 20%, it could lead to a “mental impeachment” situation, making it difficult for him to carry out his duties effectively. Recent Gallup polls show that only 23% of respondents positively evaluate Yoon’s performance, while 68% have a negative perception.

Lawmaker Jung criticized the President’s focus on reforms while his approval ratings are plummeting, questioning the impact of his actions. He also expressed dismay over the involvement of Kim Gun-hee, the First Lady, in controversial political appointments, calling it shameful for Korean politics.

Jung further raised concerns about a phenomenon called “Lameduck,” where a lame-duck leader loses power as their term nears its end. He questioned the loyalty of officials within the administration and criticized the current state of Korean politics, suggesting that it does not address the real concerns of the people.

Amidst these controversies, Jung emphasized the need for meaningful change and leadership integrity to restore public trust and address pressing issues faced by the nation.
