Political analyst Fesenko commented on the first point of President Zelensky’s victory plan presented in the Verkhovna Rada on October 16. He emphasized the importance of inviting Ukraine to NATO and stated that there is no unity on this issue.

Fesenko pointed out that the invitation of Ukraine to NATO depends on various circumstances, including the outcome of the war, future relations between the US, Europe, Russia, the state of NATO, and more. He also mentioned that Ukraine’s NATO invitation prospects hinge on the next US president.

Recent statements indicate that Ukraine may not receive a NATO invitation due to the lack of readiness among some global leaders. However, Ukrainian officials are actively seeking an invitation, underscoring its significance in future negotiations.

Latest Statements on Inviting Ukraine to NATO

Ukrainian Ambassador to NATO Natalia Galibarenko revealed that Ukraine is formally requesting an invitation to NATO, even before the end of President Biden’s term.

Conversely, US Ambassador to NATO Julian Smith clarified that the Alliance does not plan to invite Ukraine in the near future.

President Zelensky, in his address to the Verkhovna Rada, prioritized the invitation to NATO as the first step in Ukraine’s victory plan, indicating his expectation of it happening “now.”
