Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated China’s commitment to playing a constructive role in calming the conflict in the Middle East during a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining strong bilateral relations and promoting practical cooperation.
Iran expressed deep concerns about the escalating regional tensions and highlighted the need for diplomatic solutions to prevent further conflict. Wang advocated for dialogue and opposed military actions to resolve hotspot issues, calling on all parties to work towards peace and stability in the region.
Furthermore, Wang commended Iran’s efforts in mediation diplomacy and supported the reconciliation between Iran and Saudi Arabia. China is willing to assist in promoting positive outcomes from the trilateral joint committee meeting to enhance regional peace and stability.
Overall, China continues to demonstrate its responsibility as a major global player by actively participating in efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote peaceful resolutions in the Middle East.
