Ukraine retakes north of Kharkiv, destroys Russian regiment

In a recent report by Ukraine’s military intelligence (HUR), it was disclosed that 400 hectares of forest in Kharkiv Oblast were liberated, resulting in the demise of several Russian soldiers. The operation took place near the village of Lyptsi, just 10 kilometers south of the Russian border. This village had previously been under Russian occupation in 2022 and was once again targeted during Russia’s offensive in 2024.

During the operation, Ukrainian soldiers successfully captured a Russian battalion defense area, eliminating three motorized rifle battalions, a Storm platoon, and a reconnaissance company from Russia’s Seventh Separate Motorized Rifle Regiment. They also took control of Russian captives, marking a significant triumph for the Ukrainian forces.

This successful mission by HUR has paved the way for further expulsion of Russian occupiers from Kharkiv Oblast. Just months ago, Ukraine’s 3rd Assault Brigade executed a similar counterattack in the region, showcasing the resilience and strength of the Ukrainian armed forces in defending their territory against Russian aggression.
