London Calls for Action to Combat Violence Against Palestinians in the West Bank
In a bold move, the UK has imposed sanctions on several Israeli settler outposts and organizations in the West Bank, urging Israel to crack down on violence against Palestinian residents. Israeli settlements in the West Bank are considered illegal under international law, hindering the creation of an independent Palestinian state. The UK Foreign Office singled out three outposts supporting extremists and engaging in activities that violate Palestinian rights. Since October 2023, over 1,400 incidents of settler violence have been recorded following the Israel-Hamas conflict.
