**Unlocking Connectivity Potential: Highlights from the SCO Summit**

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif led the 23rd Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Islamabad, emphasizing the need to invest in regional connectivity. The SCO, comprising countries like China, India, Russia, Pakistan, and others, has a crucial role in promoting economic integration. PM Shehbaz highlighted flagship projects like the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as key drivers of connectivity.

Addressing poverty and climate change, Shehbaz stressed the moral obligation to address poverty and the urgent need to combat climate change. He also discussed the devastating floods in Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of disaster preparedness.

In his opening remarks, Shehbaz called for concrete action plans to enhance economic growth and regional stability. At a time when global conflicts and challenges loom large, the SCO platform stands as a beacon of multilateralism.

The summit also saw India’s Minister of External Affairs, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishan­kar, highlighting the issue of cross-border terrorism. Despite differences, the leaders acknowledged the importance of collaboration for sustainable development and security.
