PM Shehbaz meets with coalition parties for lunch

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Hosts Lunch for Coalition Lawmakers Ahead of Constitutional Amendment Presentation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited lawmakers from all coalition parties for a special lunch at Parliament House on Thursday. The gathering precedes the National Assembly session where the 26th constitutional amendment is expected to be tabled.

Additionally, the special committee meeting on constitutional amendments has been rescheduled to 11:30 am on Thursday. This follows an agreement between Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on proposed amendments.

JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced the consensus during a joint press conference in Karachi. They emphasized the importance of non-controversial amendments for national unity and progress.

Bhutto Zardari revealed plans for JUI-F to engage with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in supporting the finalized draft. The focus remains on resolving public issues and fostering a united front among political parties.
