Many North Carolina communities are adjusting their 2024 election schedules due to the impact of Hurricane Helene. In Buncombe County, a heavily affected area, new early voting times and locations have been approved. Early voting now runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Nov. 1.
Polling locations have also been revised in response to the storm. Buncombe County has published a list of updated locations for early voting. The county supported President Biden in the 2020 election with 60% of the vote.
Watauga County has also revised its early voting schedule, expanding weekend hours. The board expresses gratitude for the community’s resilience and assistance in maintaining voter accessibility.
State officials are implementing measures to ensure a smooth election process in the affected counties.
