Medical supplies finally arrive at Bor Prison after 7-month wait

Bor Central Prison received a crucial shipment of medical supplies after seven months, alleviating the shortage of essential medications for inmates. The prison has been struggling to provide adequate care for prisoners vulnerable to diseases like malaria and typhoid. The Director General of Bor State Hospital, Duop Lam, requested the delivery due to a rise in reported illnesses among inmates.

The Director of Bor Central Prison, Paul Bol Ador, expressed gratitude for the timely donation, acknowledging the prisoners’ suffering from a lack of medications. The Chief of Rule of Law at UNMISS, Anees Ahmed, highlighted the importance of the delivery in fulfilling their mandate to uphold human rights and justice.

The recent delivery of medical supplies is a positive step in prioritizing the well-being of inmates at Bor Central Prison. The collaboration between the international community and the Government of South Sudan aims to improve the health conditions within the facility and ensure prisoners receive the care they deserve.
