Palestinian prisoners are subjected to scabies as a tool of torture by the Israeli occupation prison service.
The Prisoners Club accused Israel of using scabies to harass and abuse Palestinian detainees, denying them proper medical treatment. This abuse has turned the right to medical care into a tool of torment. The Prisoners Club revealed that many released prisoners have suffered health issues, including chronic problems, due to the inhumane conditions in Israeli prisons.
The lack of hygiene products and proper healthcare has led to the spread of scabies and other skin diseases in Gaza, affecting vulnerable populations like children and the elderly. Doctors in makeshift health centers struggle to provide care amidst limited resources and deteriorating living conditions.
