Increasing costs in environment endangering human survival

The President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Francis Meshioye, has expressed concern over the challenging business environment that is impacting profitability and threatening the survival of many operators in the manufacturing sector. He highlighted the sector’s crucial role in job creation and economic growth but noted that various obstacles are hindering its contribution to the country’s GDP.

Meshioye emphasized the need to address constraints affecting the competitiveness of local products to prevent further economic decline. The upcoming 52nd Annual General Meeting of MAN aims to facilitate discussions on overcoming these challenges and setting a new direction for the manufacturing sector.

The event, scheduled from October 22 to 24, 2024, will feature the theme “The Imperatives of an Intentional Development of the Nigerian Manufacturing Sector” and include the fourth Odutola Annual Lecture delivered by Samaila Zubairu, President/CEO of the Africa Finance Corporation.

Additionally, a Made-in-Nigeria Exhibition will showcase products from over 100 exhibitors to promote locally manufactured goods and stimulate patronage. The event will also host a members-only AGM session and a Presidential Luncheon, bringing together industry players, government officials, and stakeholders.
