Hezbollah threatens to attack central, north and south Israel, targets Haifa – Naharnet

Hezbollah’s defiance against ongoing Israeli bombardment and threats to attack targets across Israel have escalated tensions in the region. In a speech, Hezbollah’s deputy chief Naim Qassem declared that the group “will not be defeated” in its conflict with Israel, vowing to retaliate against any attacks on Lebanon.

As Iran engages in ceasefire talks, Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati expressed readiness to bolster military presence in the south post-ceasefire. Meanwhile, Israel faced criticism for its offensive in Gaza, with the UN warning of dire aid restrictions in the region.

The situation further intensified following Iran’s missile barrage in retaliation for an Israeli strike that killed key Hezbollah and Iranian figures. Amid international concerns, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted the country’s right to defend its national interest.

With Lebanon reeling from escalating violence and thousands displaced, the region faces a critical juncture. As tensions simmer, the need for immediate de-escalation and diplomatic solutions becomes paramount for averting a broader conflict.
