Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz addressed rumors circulating on social media about an alleged on-campus rape of a student in Lahore, calling it a “fabricated story.” She stated that the incident never occurred, and it was all a result of misinformation.
Following the viral spread of the news, a security guard at the college was arrested by the police. However, Chief Minister Nawaz clarified that the alleged rape incident had no truth to it and was simply a ploy to mislead and incite students through social media.
Accusing the PTI of using the rumors for their benefit, she emphasized that the girl involved was not a victim of rape but of manipulation and political conspiracy.
