4 police officers wounded in IED attack on vehicle in Buner, Pakistan: authorities

Four policemen, including the in-charge of a police post, were wounded in a bombing incident in Buner district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The attack occurred when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near a police van during a routine patrol in the Nawagai area. The injured officers, including Assistant Sub-Inspector Shahid Zada, were promptly transported to a local hospital and are currently in stable condition.

Following the assault, authorities launched a search operation led by District Police Officer Shah Hassan to track down the assailant responsible for targeting the law enforcement personnel. This incident is part of a series of assaults on police officials and checkposts in KP and Balochistan, with incidents increasing significantly after the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) breached a ceasefire agreement with the government.

In a separate attack in Buner, suspects set fire to a school and detonated another IED near a police team, without causing any casualties. In a recent event in Bannu, five militants were neutralized while four police officials sacrificed their lives to prevent an attack on Iqbal Shaheed Police Lines.
