UN expresses concern over Israeli strike on north Lebanon town

Israel has intensified its conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of at least 21 people in a recent airstrike. The ongoing military operations have raised tensions, especially in southern Lebanon. The UN Security Council has expressed concern over peacekeeping positions coming under fire amidst clashes between Israel and Hezbollah.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to continue attacking Hezbollah in Lebanon, including in Beirut, without mercy. The conflict has seen an increase in violence, with projectiles fired from Lebanon intercepted by Israel, causing residents to seek shelter.

The Israeli military has targeted Hezbollah infrastructure and tunnels, claiming to have destroyed numerous sites. However, allegations of harm to UNIFIL peacekeepers have sparked controversy, with Israel urging their withdrawal from combat zones.

As the situation escalates, international tensions rise, with the Middle East on high alert for potential retaliatory actions. The US and Australia have issued warnings to their citizens in the region, emphasizing safety measures amid the growing conflict.
