The British government has imposed new sanctions on three illegal Israeli settler outposts and four groups for violence against Palestinians in the West Bank. Foreign Secretary David Lammy criticized Israeli authorities for allowing settler violence to escalate. This marks the third round of sanctions by the UK targeting those involved in settler violence since February.
The sanctioned organizations include a religious school, NGO, charity, and a construction company, while the settlements targeted are the Tirzah Valley Farm Outpost, Meitarim Outpost, and Shuvi Eretz Outpost. The United States has also implemented similar sanctions.
Lammy emphasized the need for accountability and urged Israel to crack down on settler violence and halt expansion on Palestinian land. Israeli violence has intensified in the West Bank following clashes with Hamas.
Former foreign secretary David Cameron revealed plans to sanction two Israeli ministers before the U.K.’s general election. These developments underscore international concerns over the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
