South Korea Supports Healthcare in Azerbaijan

The South Korean government has extended a helping hand to the Ganja City Integrated Hospital in Azerbaijan by providing $500,000 worth of medical equipment. This initiative is part of the long-standing partnership between the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance of Azerbaijan and the South Korean government.

Zaur Aliyev, chairman of the agency, emphasized the project’s aim to enhance the accessibility and quality of medical services in Azerbaijan. The equipment supplied includes essential items such as a defibrillator, anesthesia machine, ventilator, and more for intensive care and resuscitation purposes.

Chairman of the Azerbaijani Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions, Vugar Gurbanov, highlighted the importance of the South Korea-Azerbaijan cooperation in developing healthcare personnel and providing necessary medical equipment.

This collaboration not only enhances Azerbaijan’s healthcare system but also safeguards the health of its citizens. South Korean Ambassador Lee In-Yong noted the significance of modern medical equipment in treating cardiovascular diseases and lauded the partnership for promoting effective medical services.

The South Korean government’s support extends beyond this initiative, with previous contributions to maternal and child health and COVID-19 response in Azerbaijan.
