As winter approaches, Ukraine is fully prepared to ensure that residential buildings have heat and light during the cold season. With over 99% of buildings ready for winter, along with schools, kindergartens, and hospitals, the country is well-equipped for the heating season. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal highlighted the synchronization of efforts by the government, regional military administrations, and community authorities in infrastructure preparation.
Furthermore, Ukraine has ample gas and coal reserves to sustain through the winter, with all nine nuclear power units operational. The government has also focused on decentralized generation as part of its winter readiness strategy. Energy sustainability programs, such as 0% loans for individuals and preferential loans for businesses, have been implemented to support utilities and communities.
With over 18,000 boiler houses and 4,800 central heating stations ready to supply heat, Ukraine is set for a smooth transition into the heating season. The country’s proactive approach to winter preparations ensures the comfort and safety of its residents during the colder months.
