Putin suggests ratifying the Russia-DPRK treaty on mutual assistance
Russian President Vladimir Putin has presented a bill to the State Duma for the ratification of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty between Russia and the DPRK, signed in June 2024.

“To ratify the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty between the Russian Federation and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, signed in the city of Pyongyang on June 19, 2024,” the draft federal law states.
The key point in the agreement, according to the DPRK, is Article 4, which outlines military assistance in the event of an armed attack.
The treaty emphasizes cooperation to prevent conflicts and strengthen defense potential for regional and international peace and security.
Kim Jong-un has praised the treaty for ensuring long-lasting Russian-Korean relations and regional stability.
