Kim Yo-jong Warns Seoul of Consequences for Allegedly Sending Drones Over North Korea
In a recent development, Kim Yo-jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, has accused Seoul of launching drones over North Korea and warned of the consequences. North Korea claims to have evidence that South Korea was behind the launch of several drones that dropped propaganda leaflets over Pyongyang earlier this month. As a response, North Korea blew up sections of roads leading to South Korea, citing provocations from the South.
South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun has neither confirmed nor denied the allegations made by North Korea. In a press statement, Kim Yo-jong highlighted the evidence against South Korea and vowed that the perpetrators would face a severe penalty. Kim Jong Un has ordered the military to increase deterrence measures in response to the alleged aerial violations by South Korea.
The escalating tensions have raised concerns about a possible war on the Korean peninsula. The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the drone attacks, calling them a violation of North Korea’s sovereignty. With both sides on high alert, the situation remains tense and unpredictable.
