The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is currently facing a strike by its workers, who are demanding a review of the 2024 promotion exam and better welfare benefits. The agency’s Director-General, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, denies any responsibility for the limited vacancies in the agency.
The strike, initiated by staff unions like SSACGOC and MHWUN, has raised concerns about the alleged unfair promotion practices and unpaid benefits for employees. Adeyeye clarified that the agency follows the government’s guidelines for promotions and is committed to employee welfare.
Regarding the estacode and arrears, Adeyeye assured that NAFDAC’s policy is in line with standard procedures, and travel allowances are paid based on trip evidence. She emphasized that the agency operates within the government’s approved budget for vacancies and promotions.
