North Carolina’s Robinson Refutes Allegations of Racially and Sexually Explicit Posts
North Carolina’s Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson has taken action against CNN, disputing the network’s claims that he made obscene racial and sexual remarks on a pornography site. Robinson, who is running as the Republican candidate for North Carolina’s governor, filed a lawsuit against CNN, condemning their reporting as a “high-tech lynching” during a recent press conference.
The controversy arose after CNN published a report detailing explicit internet posts allegedly attributed to Robinson on a pornography website called “Nude Africa”. In response, Robinson’s legal team argued that the email address linked to the posts had been compromised due to previous data breaches.
Robinson’s lead attorney Jesse Binnall asserted, “Lt. Gov. Robinson has consistently maintained the falsity of these allegations, a fact that our investigation has confirmed.” He denounced the CNN report as politically motivated interference in the state’s upcoming election, where Robinson trails his Democratic opponent by a significant margin in recent polls.
The lawsuit accuses CNN of disregarding the compromised nature of Robinson’s data and falsely portraying him in a negative light. As the November election approaches, the outcome remains uncertain, with early voting underway and absentee ballots already being received.
