Lahore students rally against harassment, call for probe committee – Pakistan

The Progressive Students Collective (PSC) organized an anti-harassment rally in Lahore following clashes between students, security teams, and police. The protests stemmed from an alleged on-campus rape incident that enraged the student community.

Despite the arrest of a security guard related to the case, no First Information Report (FIR) had been filed as the victim’s family did not come forward. The mobilized students demanded justice and accountability for the violence and harassment.

The PSC rally called for an investigation into the recent unrest, the Punjab College rape case, and harassment incidents at Lahore Women’s College. They pushed for the formation of a committee with human rights organizations, student representatives, and judges.

The director of the Punjab Group of Colleges denied any CCTV evidence of the alleged rape, sparking further controversy. Amidst these developments, a citizen filed a petition in the Lahore High Court highlighting cases of harassment in educational institutions.
