Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant recently informed US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin about Israel’s intention to respond forcefully to Hezbollah following an attack on an Israeli military base that resulted in the deaths of four soldiers.
Galant emphasized the gravity of the situation and the harsh retaliation that will be taken against Hezbollah during his conversation with Austin. He also expressed his commitment to investigating the incident and implementing necessary changes.
Israeli army’s chief of staff, Herzi Halevi, visited the targeted Golani base and praised the response to the attack while highlighting the ongoing preparedness for future conflicts.
Hezbollah’s bold drone attack
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for a sophisticated missile and drone operation targeting Israeli military installations. The attack resulted in casualties among Israeli officers and soldiers who were preparing for a potential assault on Lebanon.
In response, Galant affirmed Israel’s determination to prevent Hezbollah from regaining control of border areas between Lebanon and Israel even after Israeli forces withdraw.
