Indian FM visits Pakistan after 10 years as SCO summit nears.

India’s Minister for External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar made a historic visit to Pakistan ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit. The SCO consists of China, India, Russia, Pakistan, Iran, and other countries.

As Pakistan holds the chair of the Council of the Heads of Government, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over the summit. Despite not discussing bilateral relations during his visit, Jaishankar represented India at the meeting.

The summit welcomed various high-profile delegates, including Premier Li Qiang from China. Top-notch security measures were implemented in Islamabad, with over 10,000 security personnel deployed.

The summit program included a welcome dinner by PM Shehbaz and a packed agenda for the day. Key events included group photos, opening remarks by PM Shehbaz, and document signings. The summit highlighted cooperation and collaboration among member states.

Overall, the SCO Summit brought together leaders from different countries to engage in discussions and agreements. With a focus on regional cooperation, the summit aimed to strengthen ties and foster peace and stability in the region.
