Hezbollah Vows Continued Rocket Attacks on Israel Until Ceasefire
Hezbollah’s acting chief, Naim Qassem, has declared that the group will continue firing rockets into more areas of Israel until the country halts its air strikes and ground invasion in Lebanon. The ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel has intensified, with Hezbollah targeting areas further south in Israel to “hurt the enemy” and escalate attacks.
Qassem, who took over leadership after the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah, emphasized the importance of a ceasefire in both Lebanon and Palestine to end the escalating violence. The current situation has resulted in numerous casualties and displacement of over a million people in Lebanon’s south and east.
Cross-border attacks persist
In response to Hezbollah’s rocket attacks, Israel has carried out air strikes across Lebanon, resulting in further casualties and destruction. Despite international efforts for a ceasefire, both sides continue to engage in daily cross-border fire, escalating tensions in the region.
As the conflict rages on, Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati is prepared to strengthen the country’s military presence in the south in collaboration with UNIFIL. The situation remains volatile, with Italy’s Prime Minister planning a visit to Lebanon to address the ongoing crisis.
