The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Minister of Defense of BiH, Zukan Helez, visited Berlin today to meet with the Minister of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany, Boris Pistorius. The two officials discussed the strong friendly relations between the two countries and the importance of continuing to nurture and strengthen them.
During the meeting, they talked about various topics including the economy, civil society, bilateral cooperation, and the aid package for building defense capacities. They also highlighted the good and continuous cooperation between the two ministries of defense and armed forces.
Helez emphasized Germany’s role as a proven and reliable partner in supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina’s development, not only financially but also through various projects and initiatives. He also mentioned the importance of NATO’s “open door policy” in encouraging Bosnia and Herzegovina’s integration efforts.
The meeting also addressed the control and protection of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s airspace, with an agreement that the EU will provide assistance in this area. Helez presented Pistorius with the Flower of Srebrenica and invited him to mark the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica.
