The Hawks are currently investigating former Miss South Africa contestant Chidimma Adetshina’s citizenship status, which is still in its early stages. The focus of the investigation has not yet been narrowed down to any specific individual.
About two months ago, the home affairs department disclosed to parliament that the Hawks were looking into Adetshina’s citizenship due to potential identity theft. Adetshina, who was born in South Africa to a Nigerian father and Mozambican mother, is at the center of this investigation.
Hawks spokesperson Brig Thandi Mbambo stated that they cannot confirm the investigation against anyone until the individual is brought to court. The case of corruption, brought forward by the home affairs department, is currently under investigation.
As for the timeline of the investigation’s completion, Brig Thandi Mbambo mentioned that it is still in its infancy stage, and the duration is uncertain. Meanwhile, the Hawks are actively working on the case.
