Hamas condemns Israel’s ‘horrific crime’ in Gaza’s al-Shati refugee camp.

Hamas has condemned the Israeli army’s targeting of children at the al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City as a “horrific crime.” In an airstrike, at least five Palestinian children were killed and 12 others, including women and children, were injured. Hamas called for legal action against Israeli leaders for what they labeled as “ethnic cleansing” and “killing merely for the sake of killing.” The group urged for trials at the International Criminal Court to hold Zionist leaders accountable for their actions.

Since a cross-border attack by Hamas last year, Israel has maintained a brutal offensive on Gaza, defying a UN Security Council resolution for a cease-fire. Tragically, over 42,200 people, predominantly women and children, have been killed, and more than 98,400 have been injured as a result of the ongoing violence. The Israeli onslaught has forced the displacement of nearly the entire population of Gaza, exacerbating shortages of food, clean water, and medicine. Israel now faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice due to its actions in the region.
