Controversy Surrounding Alleged Rape Case at Punjab College
A recent alleged rape case at Punjab College has sparked controversy after the victim’s father denied the incident. In a video statement, he refuted the rape claims, stating that his daughter’s name is being used for propaganda on social media.
The father explained that his daughter suffered a spinal injury from falling on the ground, with medical reports provided to the police. Despite calls for an FIR, Assistant Superintendent of Police Sheherbano Naqvi emphasized the importance of credible information and warned against spreading false information.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz formed a high-level committee to investigate the incident, led by the Punjab chief secretary and including various officials. This committee will collect evidence, record statements, assess the college administration’s response, and examine the role of the police in the case.
