Uruguay Unveils Plans for Military Upgrades
Uruguay’s Defense Minister Armando Castaingdebat has announced plans for significant military advancements, including the construction of two Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) and a new radar network.
Valued at €82.37 million, the OPV project aims to bolster the Uruguayan Navy’s coastal defense and law enforcement capabilities. Despite initial setbacks, construction will commence soon. Additionally, a comprehensive radar and sensor network will be implemented to enhance air coverage and anti-aircraft capabilities.
