The tribunal’s 120-page ruling deemed beliefs accusing Israel of apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and genocide as “worthy of respect in a democratic society.” This landmark decision classified Miller’s anti-Zionist beliefs as a philosophical belief, thus protected under the Equality Act 2010.
Although Miller won his claim for unfair dismissal, his compensation was reduced by 50% due to his own actions contributing to the dismissal. Despite the ruling’s affirmation of his beliefs, the Judge criticized Miller’s expressions as “ill-judged.”
