Abia State Government has started distributing interest-free loans to 302 youths trained in agriculture, aiming to boost food production in the state. The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mr Okey Kanu, revealed this during a press briefing at the Government House, Umuahia. In February, the government sponsored these youths to receive training at CSS Global Integrated Farms in Nassarawa. Following the approval of disbursement by Dr Alex Otti, the beneficiaries will receive loans in tranches based on their work progress to ensure proper utilization. The State Ministry of Agriculture will oversee the process to guarantee the loans’ effectiveness in enhancing food production.
