The detonation is the first move following Kim Jong-un’s declaration of a “strong political-military stance” after calling the drone incident a “grave violation of the republic’s sovereignty.” The future holds uncertainty as North Korea is likely to continue fortifying the cut-off road with concrete barriers. The South strongly criticized North Korea’s actions, condemning them as a violation of past agreements and expressing deep regret over repeating regressive behaviors. Kim Yo-jong even threatened severe consequences for South Korean provocations without disclosing the evidence.
