Stefanchuk urges Canada to boost military aid for Ukraine

In a recent meeting with Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada Greg Fergus, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized the need for increased military support for Ukraine. Stefanchuk highlighted the ongoing security challenges in Ukraine, including attacks by Russian drones and missile strikes on Ukrainian cities. Despite Canada’s current support, Stefanchuk called for additional air defense systems, combat aircraft, and other military resources to combat Russian aggression.

During the meeting, the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Ukraine and Canada was also discussed. Stefanchuk expressed gratitude for Canada’s support and emphasized the need for continued assistance in Ukraine’s path towards NATO integration. The discussion also touched on joint production of drones and Canada’s role in the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.

The meeting underscored the strong partnership between the two countries and their commitment to Ukraine’s security and Euro-Atlantic integration. As Ukraine continues to navigate complex geopolitical challenges, support from allies like Canada remains crucial in ensuring its defense and stability.
