Shehbaz greets Chinese Premier Li Qiang, optimistic for ‘productive’ visit – Pakistan

Chinese Premier Li Qiang’s arrival in Pakistan marks a significant event, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif anticipating a fruitful four-day visit. Premier Li is set to attend the 23rd Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meeting amidst heightened security measures.

PM Shehbaz welcomed Premier Li at Rawalpindi’s Nur Khan Airbase, emphasizing the significance of the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. The visit includes the signing of Memorandums of Understanding for projects like CPEC-2 and the virtual inauguration of the $200-million Gwadar International Airport.

The SCO summit aims to strengthen regional cooperation and economic integration, positioning Pakistan as a key trade hub in Central Asia. Foreign leaders from India, Russia, and Iran, among others, are set to participate in the event, highlighting the global significance of the summit.
