Resident doctors in Morocco are taking a stand against government neglect by announcing a three-day strike starting October 15th. The National Committee of Resident Doctors expressed deep frustration with the government’s inaction, highlighting a deterioration in healthcare quality due to delays in addressing their demands.
Despite ongoing protests by medical students since late 2023, the government has not fully addressed grievances such as shortened medical studies and lack of clinical experience. Outdated equipment and limited resources in medical schools also hinder students’ learning.
The protests, which include demonstrations and social media campaigns, aim to secure stable employment and better educational conditions for medical professionals in Morocco. While the government has made some concessions, residents and students continue to push for their rights to be upheld.
