PTI Postpones Protest at D-Chowk Due to SCO Summit
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to postpone its protest at Islamabad’s D-Chowk scheduled for October 15. The decision was taken during a meeting of PTI’s political committee in light of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in the capital city.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated that the government, through Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, offered assurances including a medical examination for PTI founder Imran Khan and access to his physician. The PTI founder’s health has been a major concern, leading to the planned protest.
The SCO Summit will see the participation of several global leaders, making security a top priority for the authorities. Minister for Information Atta Tarar emphasized that disrupting the summit would not be tolerated, ensuring a safe and secure environment for the international delegations attending the event.
Despite the postponement, PTI remains vigilant about their demands and the well-being of their leader, Imran Khan.
